Reviews
Review, by Dr. Steven Frankel.
It’s a book that derives from years and years of clinical and organizational experience.
It is very comprehensive in the sense that the topics it treats - transference, countertransference and group phenomenon - are dealt with in direct, historically clear and creative ways. It is very much to Springmann’s credit that he follows so many cases and looks at them consistently throughout the book. It’s obviously something he has worked very hard on. He has carefully and understandably reviewed the literature for each one of the topics he covers. The most striking thing about the book is how comprehensive and thoughtful it is and how much attention he pays to making sure he has a large sample of clinical material to draw from in order to come up with the ideas and conclusions he draws. It’s a very laudable job that reflects years and years of experience and work.
It's a very earnest, very thoughtful and very useful work.
